SYNCTACLES does not collect personal data. No account needed, no email address, no tracking cookies. All features work without registration of any kind.
Anonymous technical data
To improve our products, your app sends anonymous technical data to our servers. This data is opt-in and can be disabled in the app settings. It includes:
Both apps
- Home Assistant version and system architecture
- App version and bidding zone
- Installation type (OS, Supervised, Core)
- Entity and add-on count
- Language setting
Energy app
- Price source reliability metrics
- Energy supplier name and pricing mode
- Source fallback and cache statistics
Care app
- Database size, health grade, and orphan count
- Cleanup statistics (items removed, duration)
- Error patterns for quality monitoring (PII-free)
- System environment for error diagnosis (OS, kernel, disk and memory usage)
This data cannot be traced back to you or your household.
Heartbeat
Every 6 hours, each app sends a minimal heartbeat (install ID, product name, app version, architecture). This is always active and cannot be disabled. It allows us to count active installations and detect widespread issues.
Installation identifier
Each installation generates a random identifier (install_uuid) to count unique installations. This identifier is not linked to any person, device serial number, IP address, or other identifying information. It exists solely to prevent double-counting.
What we do NOT do
- Collect names, email addresses, or account data
- Track browsing behavior or usage patterns
- Use analytics scripts or third-party trackers
- Store IP addresses (hashed for rate limiting only, never linked to identities)
- Sell or share data with third parties
- Use data for advertising
- Collect energy consumption or usage data
- Access personal pricing or tariff information
Data retention
Community shared data from installations inactive for more than 90 days is automatically deleted. All data is stored on European servers.
Legal basis
The processing of anonymous technical data is based on legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Our legitimate interest is product improvement and error detection. The impact on users is minimal: data is anonymous, cannot be linked to individuals, and is automatically deleted after 90 days of inactivity.
